2025 Tax Year Info + FAQs
January 09, 2026
Tax season is right around the corner, and here’s everything you need to know. The process will largely remain the same as in previous years, with no significant changes or updates. We’ll be issuing the usual tax forms and following similar procedures. We’ll keep you informed with any important reminders as the season progresses.
It's crucial that you take this time to verify the accuracy of the information on your profile page in the back office, especially the email and address listed under Business Information.
Please review the FAQs below, and feel free to contact ASK if you have any additional questions.
Who will receive a tax form?
/ Canadian Artists: Those who earned more than $500 CAD in commissions in 2025 will receive a T4A Slip that will be mailed via US Mail by February 28th, 2026 to the address listed in your back office.
/ US Artists: If you earned over $600 USD in commissions in 2025, you will receive a 1099 form before February 2, 2026, via email from Tax1099.com (noreply@tax1099.com).
Note: we will not provide US 1099 forms for those who earned less than $600 USD in commissions or CAN T4A forms for those who earned less than $500 CAD in commissions. For any questions, please consult your tax professional.
US Artists: What steps should I take to open my 1099 from the email?
- You will receive an email from Tax1099.com (noreply@tax1099.com) requesting you to opt-in for electronic delivery of your 1099. The email will look like the below:

Note: Due to changes in IRS standards, you will need to officially consent to receiving a 1099 via email for the 1099 to be considered delivered by IRS standards. If you do not accept consent prior to February 2, 2026, we will mail a copy of the 1099 to your address on record.
Tip: Check your junk or spam folders for the email, as it may be directed there based on your email settings.
2. Once you have opted-in, you will be taken to a login screen:

You will need a unique 8-character password to open your 1099 PDF form. Your password will be a combination of the first 4 letters of your personal or business name (all lowercase) and the last 4 digits of your tax ID (SSN/EIN). For example, if your name appears on the form as Jane Doe with a SSN of 123456789, then your password would be jane6789.
Note: passwords incorporate spaces and special characters.
If your business name is listed on the form as A&B Beauty, and your EIN is 012345678, the password would be a&b 5678. If it was A & B Beauty and your EIN is 012345678, the password would be a & 5678.
3. After logging in, you will be given the choice to opt into receiving forms electronically or to opt out of it. If you choose to opt in, you will see your 1099. If we do not receive consent, we will mail out your 1099.
